i'm so glad you like it, i too use alpaca and find you can't beat it for that whispy newborn look. great to have a fellow alpaca lover. now we have to convert the rest of these ladies.....lol sage
I really find it is easier to root than the mohair and like you said gives such a fine wispy look. I also like that it hasn't been died so you have lots of variations in the color- very natural. A little seems to go a long way also.
If you search alpaca on forum you will also find other posts on it (if you like). I have a 4ft bag of baby llama hair I need to wash and comb. It's got 3 colors in the bag. I would have been done had I not been in this blasted motorcycle crash! But, life goes on... ;)
Maybe I should just weigh and sell it as "raw" hair and people can process it themselves. It doesn't need to be colored. Hmmm, I'll have to think about that one!

You guys are funny! I knew this was a great forum!! I work in a Rehab/Nursing facility and 0ne of my coworkers has an alpaca farm- I told her she is sitting on a goldmine!! She has 14 of them- that would be a whole lot of reborn hair!!! I would have one but they poop alot! Ha Ha- I could have my own doll hair right in the back yard- no but seriously- she gave me hair for free. That's always a good deal!!
Oh and since I found a fellow alpaca lover- what do you use to glue the inside? My concern is because it's so fine that it might comb out easier than the regular mohair? So I triple sealed it. Do you use gem-tac- Aleen's or E-6000? I have all those. Thanks!!
HEY NO BOGARTING THE ALPACA.........lol.......your next......lol.......what do the strippers look like in your area? remember girls what happens on the raid stays there........unless i pack him in my suitecase.......lol sage
i've been useing aleenes tacky glue , i spread it with a fan brush.you also have to be a little more tender when brushing cos rough handleing will give you breakage.........what are you going to bring? oh and remember ladies .......no meds........this is an all loonie all the time road trip... sage

Did you say Strippers???? Oh right I've got my dollar!!!!!! Between the drinks and the strippers we might get some dol making done. HA! HA! At least that will be a good excuse to tell our guys. Ha! Hon were going to be making dolls. Sounds like a good plan ladies.
hey we could come out of this with cash ladies ........we'll just get the strippers to pay us to keep our clothes on............we're talking big bucks girls......lol sage
You ladies are all such a hoot! I was roflmao with every post! Oh yeah, my DH is going to want to run and hide if everyone assends on my house. Good thing you're all camping out... I got no room inside, just outside. I got a boom box, actually 2 so don't bring one. How about CD's? UH OH! I forgot... this is NOT the misc section. Ladies, control yourselves or go to the misc chatter toppic (ooooo, my bad!). This was just waaaayyy too much hilarity for this thread. My ribs hurt, too much rolf. hehehe
And yes GG, you can come too. Haven't planned a time (nor date) yet. hehehe
OK... back on topic (at least here anyway)... Maybe we can all sit around and wash/clean my llama hair, then have a rooting party too! I think I have black/silver, red/brown, and don't remember what the other color is. Its all natural, no need to dye. Anyone interested in it raw? I'll sell some, or maybe I should put some pics in showcase first?
Your not kidding about money to keep my clothes on once they saw only my leggs they wouldn't want to see the rest. HA! HA! I always said I could never be a hooker I would have to pay them. !!HA! HA! I've have some money to buy Alpaca hair!!What an idea.
Oh pooh... did I miss the party while I was clearing land and clobbering groundhogs in Frontierville, slopping the hogs in Farmville, catering parties in Cafe World, and cleaning the fish tanks in Fish World?
I hope not because I would love to know how llama compares to alpaca and mohair. If it's nice and fine, I would really be interested in obtaining some.

Tell ya what ladies... I'll send a small sample if you send me a SASE ok? And NO repeat samples under someone elses name ok hehehe! I'll also try to dig up my boxes of raw mohair and maybe send a sample of that too!
Here is my mailling addy: Buffington's/White-Tiger-Designs P.O. Box 23468 Minneapolis, MN 55423
Now, mind you... I only go to the PO box 1-2 times per month so don't expect anything right away. And since you're not sending money it shouldn't matter (except for the excitement of waiting right?) haha
So let me know if you think that's a good idea ok? :o
If I missed the party, I'll be sad. I would be able to bring a shower tent, and stand up to sleep, only trouble is , you all have to chip in for my air fair. I love the Alpaca, it is nice to work with, I used it on Jefferson Brian. XXXXXX June.
OH June, that is how my angora goat is... on the hyde yet. I have 4-5 hydes but it's all white. There was a bit of red but I cut that an put it away (the red is actually urine that has stained the white... by the goat not me hahaha). Yes, I would like that June, that would be lovely.
So I'll try to go out today and get the bag (issues lifting since the accident) and see what pics I can take. Its' awefully windy, cold, and kinda cloudy/half sunny today but we'll see what I can do.
