Using the petite premix paints on clay?

I got the art of sculpting  6" baby dolls dvd and it has the petite premixed paints used on the clay. but when I try it on my clay baby it rubs off or fades before i can put it in the oven. what am i doing wrong?

Well, hmmm... I'm not sure, I'd have to e-mail the office. I can get back to you though.

But the layers are supposed to be thin so you'd have to bake them and build up. The rubbing off before you put it in the oven is normal as the paint NEVER dries until it is cured in the oven at the proper temp and time. So that part was easy. It's the fading before it gets to the oven that gets me.

confuse   is it possible the clay is absorbing the paints which is why it looks faded ?        sage    aww

Was the clay sculpt baked before you put on your paint? How many layers had you put on before it faded?
