Hi everyone! This years online doll competition, the Colliii Awards 2010 is even bigger than last year! The registrations are now underway and you can find out more about the competition on www.colliii.com You dont have to send your dolls to Germany for the competition as everything is online based.
If you need any help registering to the worlds largest online doll competition then send me a mail to j.carlsson@colliii.com and I would be glad to help, or post it on the website. All the best!
I got the e-mail from the Colliii site and I DO plan to enter one of my babies this year. As you can see by my avatar... I have a few I"m working on to submit. Just have to decide which one(s). :) Also, I moved this post from Artist Showcase to Misc Chatter as it belongs more in this catagory. There are no actual pics so it would go here with the link. :)

I registered my Angie..and now regret it..because I thought the entries was free...doh... Now I'll be stuck paying them $25 fee for not my best work for competition...
The Reborn,Lifelike Baby Category...well there goes 1/4($25) ounces of great mohair from my favorite (Dawn Marie/Delta Dawn)...
I haven't actually made my entry yet!! Still got 3 customorders to finish before I'm free to sculpt for collii, can't wat, it's been such a long time since I've sculpted for me!
I think I need to reborn a little more babies before I could ever think of something like that.. besides right now It would be hard for myself to do a sculpt and try and get it finished before deadlines.
I have to much on my plate now!... heres to hoping next year or so..

Not at the moment.... there are lots of awards to be won. Its not always a case of experience but often a question of talent. Its a great way to present your work to a worldwide audience!
I agree! Sometimes even if a baby isn't top notch in painting, it still will win because of background, real life-like set up and accessories, stuff like that will make it look even better. And they only have pics to go by. So all you can do is put in your best work and see what happens. you might be surprised! I don't say that my work is the best but I'm going to enter (if I get one done finally)!! Good luck to you all!
I haven't even come close to capturing what they look like on camera. I've tried all sorts of lighting, flash, no flash, and posing....well still working on that one too. Pats right though even the best done babies aren't doing a thing unless they have awesome pics! I guess I'm doomed.
Hey kiddo, you're not doomed! If you are then so are a lot of us. lol Just do your best. My avatar of my doll heads isn't bad. I heard that if you put up a white sheet and shine your light through it then it difusses the light and makes things look better. I'm going to give it a try. I had to put 2 lamps on them, no flash, but don't point the light "at" them, just kind of away. I had a small window with natural light coming in from above them too. I thought of having a black background like some artists do for the main full shot pic, then with toys and stuff on a baby blanket for the closer shots. Not sure, not even finished with anyone yet... OH MY!
Hmm...now thats a new way I've heard of doing it..I'm goning to give it a try. I better get to rooting...my Justin kit has a experimental photo shoot! That's why I just love this forum, the support here is wonderful. Thanks Pat!
