Too funny! Sage, I noticed you didn't mention wanting to run your fingers through mohair or alpaca. LOL. I'd send my vinyl if you want to root the head. Hope you get the electrical fixed soon.

thanks for the support guys , this is a real pain. add to it the bf throws verbel tantrums when he gets frustrated so i end up feeling like i need to powder his butt and heat a bottle. i don't like my babies quite that big. sage aww

yes it's aweful, i was recently banned from big lots for fondleing their vinyl dolls. i'll have to restrict myself to doing my fondleing in thirft shops....... sage aww

I have heard vinyl fonding can be very addictive and can lead to mohair stroking....once you hit mohair stroking your pretty much ready for rehab ...no way out of the addiction then but rehab =( and few recover fully 100% ...better watch out! LOL

I don't have an electrical issue but I sure know how you feel with the no-babymaking withdrawals! With haveing been in school full time (over full time actually) all I could do was come home, do forum, and crash. All the while looking at baby parts and wishing...

I'm kinda going through the same thing with making my jewelry since school let out mid May. I don't have my shop set up, too much clutter with my daughter moving back home. I got nowhere to make my jewelry. I don't do beadwork so it's not that. I am a silversmith and you can't hammer on sterling on the kitchen table! All my tools are still packed till I get my room downstairs arranged. AAAARRRRGGGGGG! So I do know my dear!!! But you're funnier than me I still say! hehehe

i'm still stuck , bf doesn't know to much about electric and my friend who might isn't speaking to the bf after they tried to build a porch together.i could hire an electrican but then i won't have money for school clothes for the kids. no help from the ex.boohoo, waawaa ,rain,rain.........i just keep reminding my self about all the good stuff like you gals here on the forum........sage aww

Aww... hang in there things are going to turn around I just know it. Thank goodness I'm done with school clothes. My last just graduated high School in June, however now I await the college bills! I got lucky with my daughter she got a scholarship and is her junior year now, books are still a killer. Money is horribly tight as it is everywhere, I guess we're all in that same boat.

well i'm just glad i have you all to talk to, i love my little town in the middle of nowhere but the people here arn't that artsie and don't have alot in common with them. between 4h,basketball,cheerleading and a paramilitary program .i'm a troop mom/leader it hasn't left time for me to realy get to know anyone.half the town is snowbirds and the other half are fl crackers. sage aww

I really can't work. After I finished painting and connecting my quadruplets, I was so proud with them. And I put their photos on Russian reborning site. And they found a lot of mistakes in my work. So I was so upset and decided not to paint anymore. But I am still looking for a new kit and always think about how I will paint it.

One of my quadruplets, Kateryn, went to the new mommy. No, I haven't sold her, just presented as a birthday gift to my ant.

But now I decided to make moses baskets for my babies. It is very difficult to buy moses basket in Russia, so I bought 2 biggest baskets from IKEA and now I am making beddings for them. It looks, as my dream is to become a Grandmother. I can't explane to my husband, why I sew all the days - why I make moses baskets for DOLLS.

You can't let other people's opinions get you down or stop you from doing something you enjoy. As long as you love to reborn and are happy with your work thats all that really matters! Don't stop because of what others think thats just too sad =(

Tina is right. If you enjoy what you are doing, don't let someone else's comments make you stop. Just realize some people are downright mean, and some of us get our feelings hurt easily. Try to use and accept the honest criticism, and disregard the rest.

Most of us develop and perfect our skills through practice, and the only way to practice is to keep painting and rooting the dolls.

solymar , buck up girl. did you stop to think some people make themselfs feel better by putting other people down. they were your first babys of couse there things your gonna do differently next time. i've sold a couple of babies and am still learning,i still mess up on them too. i thought your babies were realy nice for a first timer.so don't stop if you enjoy it. sage aww

I agree, they were ok for your first. It takes practice. And... other peoples "opinions" are just that... opinions and everyone is entitled to theirs. But that doesn't mean they are right. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So if they didn't like your babies, then they don't have to buy them I say.

I know it can be heartbreaking when you have worked so hard on something and someone comes along and makes comments. Some mean, some not meant to be mean, some just don't know. Don't take them to heart dear. Maybe they don't know what a real reborn is supposed to look like. Maybe they expect them to look more real, who knows.

But I agree there too! If you love painting the babies, then do so if you want to.
I think it is wonderful for you to be making the Moses baskets for dolls. There are not that many people that make them. Possibly you will find a market for them. I think when I have seen them on ebay that they went really well.

Some men just don't understand. Hopefully when he sees how beautiful they are he won't care why you are making them.

I thought you did a good job..... It takes practice and if you enjoyed it then I wouldn't stop it.. men don't understand if they are not familier with girls and their dollies...lol

I made my b/f understand after i made him try to paint one he said he knew what i was talking about but it was creepy.. lol now he is willing to help me buy some... lol but not often..

I can't work on any babies at the moment..... :( waiting like a good girl for my order to come being patient with my order and trying to do some other stuff... lol Cleaning the house is not what I would like to do....hehehe

ok girls this is how desperate i've become, i'm trying to paint off a tv tray in liveing room with a light clamped to it. poor baby petra is my victum. cross your fingers for us. sage disbelief

Just be sure you have a natural light lightbulb in the light and you can always duct tape it to your hat so at least it's out of your way on the little table.

The effects are not usually seen right away. That is one reason I like the Secrist vinyl made in the USA! He has people working for him that have been there in the pouring/heating part of the factory for 20 years around heating vinyl. No problems he says :)
