Hi has anyone done an A D Charlie, I understand he needs a neck piece and how do you attach the limbs to a soft body, I haven't received him yet and am starting to panic about what I've taken on. Adel xx  confuse

I have not done a Charlie but I just LOVE him! I know Ruth Annette from SR has done him and he was fabulous (but then again all her work is)!!!
She said the hardest part of doing Charlie was taking him apart. Yes, he does need a neck piece as I believe his neck is a ball-joint (don't quote me lol) and I think the arms are too. But I think the legs should be able to work in a regular bodyslip. I figured if nothing else I could always string him like the old ball-joint dolls with the rubber band inside from limb to limb.

You'll have to let us know how it goes. Maybe take pics and put them in the artist showcase to share.

I still have Charlie on my list! :)

Hi, I've been searching the net for advice and found some instructions on www.spearsondollbodies.com on how to disassemble a Charlie and put him back together, so am feeling a bit better about doing him now.

Thats great hun. I'm going to go see how to do it too! thanks for the link.

OK, can you pm me with the information on that site where you found in the information on AD Charlie? I can't find it and there doesn't seem to be a "search" feature.
Just pm me about it. thanks :)

Secrist doesn't carry anything like AD Charlie so I think it's okay to share the link, isn't it?

I found it here:

Also... reminder to those who include links.  Please set the target to open the link in a new window so the forum members can stay on the forum site.

No they don't but it was one of the original stipulations of no competitors webs, names or stuff like that. And AD is basically a competitor because they do sell dolls that get reborned. But if it's another Secrist/AV doll dealer then it's ok to mention the name. Although it is simpler just to do all acronyms, causes less confusion.
I'm just following the rules... :)
