Hello, I have nearly completed my first doll! she looks so cute. I am using a zoe doll I got as a secrist starter kit. I have rooted her hair to the density I want but the only problem I am having is how to make it lie down nicely and not to look as if she has had an electrical shock. Are there any product or techniques that can be used for this?
You can try hair conditioner or hair detangler, and then while the hair is wet, brush it flat, and then put a piece of pantyhose on top of his head so that the hair dries flat.. The best way to make the hair lie down in the future is to use high quality mohair, and root directionally with your needle nearly flat against the vinyl. One of my first dolls that I rooted was so bad that had to I re-root him, because his hair was too frizzy and would not lie down flat, no matter what I did. I hope you can find a way to help your dolly now. And we all want to see pictures of her in the Artist Showcase, too.

Great advise Andrea! Yes, I agree... always make sure the angle of the needle is almost flat to the dolls head (almost!) so that the hairs lie flat to the head. It is almost always the way the hairs are inserted into the head that make the hairs stand up. If you have the rooting dvd or the book, pay particular attention to the angle of the needle. You can post a pic or 2 in the artist showcase to show us what is up with your babies hair so we know for sure... ;)
So happy to hear you were able to tame the baby's hair.
