I thought there was an article in the 09 Secrist tutorial magazine (don't quote me). The main thing I do know is use the baby tears inside the mouth after all the painting is done and cured. I know when Danielle Zweers paints hers she even puts the little whiteish tastbud dots on the tongue. Sorry I couldn't be more help, hopefully someone else will come in and post here.

Or you could just do what I do when I don't know how... take a look at the real thing! look in a babies mouth (if you have one... a baby that is lol) or look at your own.

Many times you can find some information about specific aspects of painting online  I am pretty sure I've seen this, but cannot seem to locate it today.  (Isn't that always the way it goes?)

If you are interested in learning how to make a 3-D tongue, the technique was covered by Danielle Zweers in the 2009 Secrist Tutorial and Product Guide (magazine format).

If you didn't get the 2009 magazine, I found another source that addresses the topic.  Painting facial features, including lips, gums, tongues is listed as a topic  the book, Fabulous Facial Features by Jeannine Holper.  I found the book for sale on the Secrist website at http://www.secristdolls.com/inc/sdetail/49693

thank you for the ideas, i think i'll try to paint it maybe the lip color then do some flesh 08 lightly sponged on , i saw that stephanie used the baby tears and "bubbled" them up around the tounge. i'll try that, then tell you gals what i did, so you do have to sit at a mirror painting and look at your tounge at the same time! lol!

Hurray... Thank you so much for sparing us the experience of trying to paint while looking at our tongues.  With my luck, I would probably wind up painting my tongue.  Just be careful that you don't do that!  LOL.

I'm looking forward to finding out what happens.
