I have glued some purple felt pieces inside the bridge of the nose but it doesn't show through. I was wondering what color to use to achieve the effect.
Yes, I did the inside purple wash also. I have a Luca sculp that I am afraid to start on as I'd like the blue effect and I haven't acheived it on my other guinie pigs (dolls)
I have found that the bluish vein on the bridge of the nose will normally show if the purple wash is used on the inside of a Secrist doll kit. If the vinyl is opaque, there is no need for the purple wash because it will not show through.
I'm sure there are many ways of accomplishing the bluish effect. I use the high intensity paints (Secrist or Genesis) that I mix with odorless paint thinner. For that hint of blue on the bridge of the nose, I use a mixture of mostly paint thinner with a touch of purple, blue, the veining color, or a combination of two of these. The odorless paint thinner should look like barely tinted water.
I brush this onto the bridge of the nose. If the color does not show up dark enough after baking, try adding another layer of the blue tint, and heat set the paint. Continue until you are happy with the color. I've found it's better to do a few thin layers than to get the color too dark the first time.
I hope this helps.

I didn't do Luca or Hannah eithr, I just put it as a vien on the top also, I also found that if you do it after you have done the first couple of layers of flesh you have more time to remove some if it is too heavy. XXXXXX June.
To achieve the blusih (thinner looking skin) coloring use a blue wash on the outside of the vinyl. I usually do one to two layers of flesh first and then I do my veins once the veins are done I thin out the blue even more so it is the consistency of tinted water I take a brush and dip it into the wash I then dab the brush on a papertowel to get off excess and then I paint with the brush in the area that I want to have the effect. I go over it with a dry mop brush to blend in the edges (fan them out so it is not a straight line) Then heat set. I then add more layers of paint (flesh blush, yellows, greens and blues)
