Removing Eyelashes

Hi All,
Can any of you tell me how to remove eyelashes that are already on the doll?  This is an open eyed baby and I want to reborn it.  I am sure that this has already been discussed, but since I am still kind of new to the art, I couldn't find it.  This will also be the first baby that I am going to use a wig on.  I'm kind of nervous about that too.  I really like the way the rooted hair looks, but the vinyl on this doll is way too hard to root----even with a rice sock.
I get such great ideas from this forum and I really enjoy reading everyone elses experiences---good and bad.  We all have alot to learn from each other when it comes to this wonderful art.
By the way, Wildauangel, I love the tweezered sponged effect.  I tried it on a doll that I am giving to my neighbor, and it came out fantastic!!!!  I am still rooting the doll, but when I get done and get him together (and when I figure out how to post a picture!!confuse), I will try to let you all see him before I give him to her.  My next attempt with that effect (and it looks good so far) will be Stephanie's quads.  Thanks for the tip.

Thanks all for your help!!!

Tami K

Tami, it would be nice if you could reg instead of being anonymous, but as for removing lashes, try water to soften the glue if it is water bases. If that doesn't work, you could try eucaliptus oil, or just try pulling them off with tweezers as you will most probably have to use new ones when you compleate your baby. To post pics you go to artist show case , start new topic, Do your message. IE; My new Baby, Type what sculp your new name and how you did her, go to the bottom add pics and clicl in the little square, then go to broose click on there, it will take you to where you have your pics and you click on pic and then open and it will go to where it says broose, I try to only put 3 or 4 pics on as it takes time to download. Then click, Submit. it will be entred on to the forum for you to see. Hope this is clear. I am unable to post pics on my other Aust forum as they go through photo bucket and I am comp illit. Hope this is a help for you. XXXXX June

Hi June,
Thanks for the advise.  I am registered.  Just before I hit the submit Post, I guess it kicked me out or something.  I was surprised that it came up as anonymous.  I couldn't figure that out myself.   Anyway, as for posting the pictures, I'm pretty sure I can do the posting part, it's the getting the pictures onto the computer that I need to work on.  I don't like putting my digital card into the computer.  The last few times I did that, it took all of the pictures off the card.  I didn't really want that.  Then the card wouldn't take any new pictures.  Now being that my card is now obsolute, I can't waste my cards.  So I would have to get them put one a CD at work and then put them onto my home computer.  I just have to get to doing that.
I am working on the other two dolls, but when I finish them, I will try to get the lashes off.  If your suggestions don't work out, I will let you all know.

Thanks,
Tami K

Hi Tami! Welcome to our forum. I'm glad you like it here, we do too! :)
June is right on about the lashes. With most play dolls you purchase, you can just tale a tweezer and pull them off. Usually that works the best. I know that AV (Apple Valley, a division of Secrist) uses locktite glue and so then you might have to use acetone carefully on a cotton bud. If you are going to replace the eyes then don't worry if you get it on them.

I hope we have been of help to you. Let us know what happens.
