Well I finished my first open eye babe. Was alot harder than I thought it would be. Anyway I have the eyelashes and have been researching a bit but I haven't come across the answer I need. My question is where exactly does the eyelashes get glued too? Does it get glued to the crease between the eyelid and eyeball? Or just on the lid? and does the same apply to the lower lash? Thanks a bunch!
You want to start of the outside of the eye. Put some glue down on a piece of paper. You can use some tweezers and dip the part that's sticky in the glue (like Aleens Tacky glue). Use a very thin bit. It will come off if you get some on the eyeball. You will put it where the eye meets the eyelid. And kinda tuck it in. You can use a pointed toothpick to get it up in there. Do it gingerly. You'll know you have it when the eyelash flips in the right direction. You know the top eyelash up and the bottom eyelash pointing down. Like your own. Once you do it you'll get the hang of it. Hope that helped.
Yes, that is right! You either want to put your glue on the bottom end of where they are attached to the thread on the lash or on that very same part but on what I would consider the top so it glues onto the upper eyelid and not the eyeball itself. And yes you can tuck it in a bit but not too much.
I'll give it a try! I set them on to see how they looked (I didn't glue yet) the top didn't look bad but the bottom just didn't look right. Thanks again ladies!
Sometimes there are dolls that just don't look good or realistic with bottom lashes. So if they don't look right then maybe this baby doesn't need the bottoms :o I find this to be especially true if it's a preemie or small doll kit.
