Colors for Mottling?

I purchased the strawberry complexion set of premixed paints.  If I wanted to add mottling to my baby, which colors in this set would I use?  Or do I need to purchase additional colors to do this?

Thanks,

Patricia

I use the blush for mottling. Sometimes I will also do a mottling with the lip paint (all from the strawberry complexion set). Since the strawberry set is pretty purple, I usually do a thinned out yellow wash afterwards too. What other colors do you have? If you have the 5 basic genesis colors, then the Genesis Red with a touch of ultramarine blue and a burnt umber will work very nice for a blush, too, that is not too purple or orangy. Both of the Secrist sets are either too purple (strawberry) or too orange (peaches and cream) in my opinion. They work fine as long as you add a yellow wash to the strawberry and a blue wash to the peaches and cream. Good luck and feel free to ask any more questions you may have.

I only have the colors that came with the petite premixed (strawberry) paint set.  I probably need to order some yellow before I  do any mottling.  I'm a bit nervous about attempting it so I'll probably practice on a test piece first--I would hate to ruin the baby.

What do you use for your mottling?  I thought I might try a natural sea sponge.

Thanks for your help.  It is so nice to have access to all you experienced reborners.

I use a cosmetic sponge that I 'attacked' with tweezers for my mottling. I literally 'picked' at the sponge with tweezers and made a bunch of little holes in it. It works great.

Yes, either way works well, the sea sponge or the "picked" sponge.

I do my blush layer mottled and then go over that with some 07 or 08 depending on what color the babies skintone is.
