Hi-I purchased the Beginning Classroom DVD and the Encyclopedia Part One DVD from Secrist. This is the 1st doll that I am painting with the berry maker. In the Encyclopedia Part One DVD it seems to skip the step where you apply the mottled flesh tone (using flesh 07). Was that on purpose? It just showed applying the foundation layer and then the blush layer with the berry maker and didn't mention at what point in the process to apply the step 5 of beginner classroom dvd (applying mottled flesh tone layer). I finished step 2 and 3-finishing with the 1st foundation layer, should I skip to step 5 and do the mottled flesh layer next, before using the berry maker? Or should I just avoid step 5 altogether? Thanx much--Jadenis confused!
With the base coat and the blush layer, then using the berrymakers, that is what becomes the mottled layer. So in that case yes, just follow the dvd. The regular mottled layer in the original dvd is done not using the berrymakers. Originally when the first dvd was done, the berrymakers were an advanced technique.
Thanks Pat for your quick response!! I was holding off on painting my doll until I got the straight scoop from an expert!!! Now I can begin the next layer with confidence! Hooray!!!! I am no longer confused!!!!--Jaden
Yay!! Go for it! Oh, and thank you for the vote of confidence... I'm by no means an "expert" but I have been reborning over 5 years now and am Secrist certified as a teacher. *blush*
