I'm new to reborn dolls. My problem is that I purchased a kit that is suppose to be sucking her thumb. She has a hole in the mouth and I want to close it up. I thought about using sculpey clay, but I don't know how to do it. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hello Carole, I just was reading about this in another forum. Similar problem with a hole in the vinyl. One suggested sculpty clay and heat set. One used silicone. One used a product called vinyl tac. And another just used a piece of felt to match and glued it in behind the hole, once the baby was finished. I have not encountered this problem. But, these were a few fixes from others. Maybe someone here will post, that has actually fixed one.
No matter what you use you will have to re-sculpt the detail in the mouth that is missing because of the hole. If you use polymer clay you will have to bake it per the instructions on the clay box. You want to make sure the clay is cured.
