straight long mohair and a possible commission?

|Where can somebody find really good quality of long and frizz-free mohair?

Do you think if you buy mohair like that: http://www.mohairbydebbie.com/Pages/half_oz.html and iron it,root it and then style it(curl it) you could get long straight hair human-like results?...

Also I'm sorry if this is not meant to be posted here(about the commission) but I'm so clueless and in dispare when it comes to rerooting >.<;...I'm interested to reroot a very small vinyl head of a doll with long straight mohair and I was wondering if people here accept commissions?
The head is that of a 1 / 6 scale and the mohair should be any color releavant to ash / light blonde(sort of like "barbie's" rusty hair color like the sample picture above)...any help from anybody?

Iannis, With mohair you can use normal hair product on it as it is a natural fiber, like cotton, silk, and mohair. It can be dyedWith normal or permanent hair colours and I think if you put mouse in it and blow dried it it would turn out straight. June M from Oz

I'm not sure that I understand all of your questions, but if you buy mohair roving, it is usually straight or nearly straight. Many suppliers such as PC, BB, and Miniworld offer roving.

Hello Iannis, No trouble at all. I can understand you, I have an Irishman for a husband for almost 43yrs. So I am used to some different languages. What country are you from, if that isn't being rude. June M from Oz.

hee-hee...true,true...He might just have a "slight" accent but I guess that can be hard training as well,lol...I'm from Athens,Greece^ ^...

So now my firend says that I shouldn't buy roving cause it's like really the lowest of the quality out there and it's not processed like the other soft mohair is....also tha troving is not really one long pice but many uncertain lengths weaved together...will that cause a problem?

Go ahead and order your mohair from Deb as I know the quality of her stock. As far as straight, you can wet it and put a nylon stocking over her head for that part of the straight, and then you could find something that will be heavy but breathe and leave the remaining hair straight after drying.

Yes, you can use people hair products on your mohair. It is actual hair, just not from humans lol!
I wash mine with Johnson's no more tears baby shampoo, then use a leave-in hair conditioner. When I want it short and wavey/curley, I wash it with warmer water (not hot as it will felt/frizz). Then I use Carefree Curl products and not only do I love the smell but it turns out really well for me! Just crimp it up with my hands and let it dry. I color my own goat hair with non-ammonia people hair dye. Works great except for the blondes. Gotta do it twice as it looks like "old" blondish gray. :/

Well to start off with ,I got the blond mohair from Secrists and we used it last night and it was perfect. My second class, the girls loved there babies done with the ink. They finished painting and did the rooting yesterday, all there is to do now is put them together, which will only take a short time. Pat B, have done my hair purpley red, which my sister hates, so I guess I'll be ribbed to the max on Sat, at the wedding. And Samantha did hers blond on the top half and cherry red onthe botton ,but it looks nice once we plat it and put it half up, and let the blond and cherry fall like streaks.weirdfacebiggrin

The address to Debbies mohair is at the beginning of the post, Pat B, I didn,t even get a bite from my sister, but was sat at her table with all the richy ditchies, I had a loosey night and was glad o get home, She is 12 yrs my junior as I was supposed to be the last. So I guess there is the generation gap. Which is sad. But in the photo's she is starting to look as old as me. I think i'm a little more trendy when I go out but a dag when i'm at home. XXXX June.
