When I first started rooting I purchased the rounded wooden handle and precut barbed rooting needles from Secrist. I recently decided that I would like to try the 42G barbless German rooting needles. I ordered these from DD along with another handle which is also wood but not rounded and it's longer. I just received it and the uncut needles. The needles where it has the little bend won't fit down in the handle. I thought the longer handles were made for the uncut needles with the little bend so you wouldn't need to trim them. Was I wrong?? Has anyone else had this problem?
I've not heard of a holder that takes the uncut felting needles, that would be nice if there was! If I don't buy the needles pre-cut I have to cut them and it's not easy for me to do. You should always protect your eyes, these needles and the cut ends fly like missles! I even put something protective over them when the actual cut happens. I use a tool my husband hasto do this. Be careful if you cut! Good luck,Connie

Thank You. I finally worked it out. The little metal area inside of the wooden handle I just took a drill to and drilled the inside out. I also did this to my wooden Secrist handle. It works perfect now. The wooden handle is somewhat hollow so now I can just slide the uncut needles into the part I drilled and not have to buy precuts which are more expensive or take the time to trim them myself.
