Hello all. I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I am new to newborning/reborning and have been reading all the great information that you've all graciously shared. What a wonderfully supportive group you all have here!
I am going to start my first baby (Nighty Nite). I'm not sure if this is good one to start with but oh well. I figured closed eyes would be better.
Best of luck, Emily! Nighty Nite looks like a terrific baby to start with, and it will be a lot of fun to see how she/he turns out. I'll be looking forward to seeing your baby's picture in the Artist Showcase!
Hello Emily, It is nice to welcome you to the family of reborning, Yes there are a very supportive group of ladies that once you have been on the forum for a while you will get to know them by their work.and personal comments, some write in shorthand and if your like me you have to ask what they mean. Like LOL is laughing out loud, because something yousaid was funny to them. once again welcome. June M from Os
Hi Emily... i love your name, i'm always thought emily is such a pretty name - i've already used it on one of my babies that has been adopted now.
welcome to the forum, i love seeing new member join and introduce theirselves. I've not done "Nighty Night" but she does look like a beautiful baby and i look forward to you sharing your pictures of her. Remember no one starts out perfectly, so dont get discouraged if your baby isn't perfect... the best advice i could give a newbie is to be in the moment and enjoy the magic of creating... it takes practise and the mastering of skills and techniques, and over time you'll find your own personal style and way of doing things.
i must warn you though, reborning becomes very adictive very quickly LOL ... welcome to the gang.
Hi Emily its lovely to meet you hun Nighty nite is a beautiful sculpt if you get stuck or need some advise dont be shy to post we are all very happy to help eachother along on here hun, I look forward to seeing your beautiful baby in the artist showcase (((hugs)))

Hello Emily, this isn't only to wel come you with warm wishes but to also remind Naomi, that she could teach. Remembering.... no one starts out perfectly, and I should know. I'm still building up corouge to get the Genesis paints out, after making dolls for over 20 yrs...June M from Oz
Thanks. I'll be sure to post pictures in the Artist Showcase when I have something to finally show. It sure seems slow going right now.
I did read Naomi's topic on teaching. I think as a newbie, I wouldn't expect to be taught a precise method. I think I would really want to learn the basics from someone with artistic talent like Naomi. Just an intro into color theory, what tools are needed and how to use them, and basics of mottled or peaches and cream skin tones. Even watching a professional do their work would be really insightful. I'm sure she is doing a great job.
