Good Day ladies,

I am almost up to rooting my Limited Ed bub, i must say im happy with the way he is coming alone.

the question i have for all is, is it possible to root eyelashes on an open eyed bub,

it certainly is! it can be very time consuming though and is best done on a deep set eye baby where the vinyl ridge under the top of the eye is set back a little :)

there is alot of area around inside the eye socket is this what you mean? and his eyesockets are about 2cm in depth.

I've attemtped this a few times, the problem i seemed to have though is that the rooted lashes stuck out stright and i couldn't get them to do the natural curl/flick upwards. and i just wasn't happy with how it looked. If someone has some tips and trick on this one i'd be interested also.

yes inside the eye socket sammi :) Naomi after youve rooted place a toothpick with some clear dry glue just under the eye lid (the flat bit infront of the rooted hairs) glue the hairs along it and kinda push upwards this is so hard to explain so bare with me, once dry get a toothpick and wet it with some conditioner brush it along the lashes from eyelid outwards and curl as you go a little like you do when you are curling the end of a ribbon on a present, like mohair on the head if you spray conditioner and comb it straight it stays that way same thing happens when you give the lashes a curl it stays that way, once i used a little hair spray instead of conditioner and did the same thing so you might like to try that too hope this helps ((hugs)))

i just went through all my photos and i dont have one good close up picture of the couple that ive done but below is an addy of lady who is awsome at rooting and doing rooted eyelashes there is a close up of her work there to view its right down the bottom of the page, that is what they should look like when your finished sammi you can kind of see from that picture where you need to root them hope this helps (((hugs)))

wow her hair growth patterns are amazing and the eyelashes incredible. i want to improve my own hair rooting - how she gets it to look so so so VERY real!!! Awesome!!!!

shes an inspiration to me i love her work her and a nursery called precious peaches unfortunately precious peaches is no longer around but if i was to have mentors they would be it, i strive to be as good as they are im a long way off yet but i recon ill get there :)

Wow!  TEA, I checked Pixie Kissed Babies, and the babies are incredible!  I was in awe of the hair--especially the natural swirls.  The dolls' heads are so identical to a baby's!  I noticed that you, also, are very talented when it comes to doing your babies' hair.  Your little ones have that sparse, laying kind of flat, wispy look that newborns frequently have.  What a tremendous difference the hair can make in the realism of a reborn baby!    idea

Leah - would you happen to have any good pics of newborn hair patterning that are large and up close? and different angles? I'm doing a google image search but not quite finding what i'm looking for

I really want to study this and try to replicate it on my latest bub i'm working on - i've basically finished the painting on Robin (well her face is done, limbs need a little bit more work).

I did a Taite early on - he wasn't too bad but i did him with black hair which is think ended up being a little too harsh on his tiny features.
