Well I had two orders that ended up being combined because of the delay so it was like Christmas!  I got Taffy, Zoe and Louise.  I think I am going to start with Taffy, it's kinda daunting seeing the blank kit there in front of your face for the first time when I am so used to seeing everyones completed babies that are all so beautiful and lifelike.

Hi

I just completed the Louise kit. i found it hard as i had to cut holes in the arms and legs to be able to put the weights in it, that was a bit annoying and hard work with the scissors, went through two pairs haha! but it was a good kit apart from that.
let us know how you go with them.

I use an Xacto knife to widen the holes in the arms and the legs. It is so much easier than sissors.

Christie,it wont be as daunting as you think,  at least with vynal you can't break it, as you can with porcelain greenware. I have been doing them since just before xmas but haven't made any for a few months, waiting for Phoebe to arrive to do for the 2009 Cover, although I haven't used Genesis paints before. I'll be learning something new too. Good luck with yours, but most of the ones on the forum are wonderfull help.weirdfaceJune M from Oz

Yes, everyone here has been so amazing with offering up their tips and tricks answering questions.  You gals rock!  I have been into art and crafting for a number of years and can say this forum is really special because of the people who come here.  So many of the forums I have been to over the years are filled with people who really have no desire to help out and pass along their knowledge it is really great that you all do so willingly.

Cheers ladies,

Christie

It's not weird,  I was so excited to get them and I think the first thing I did once getting it from the plastic was to sniff her lol. Any tips you can offer on doing Taffy as your first?

Take Care,

Christie

I Thought Taffy Was Quite Easy to do as her features were noticable, the head is a perfect size, as zoe way said, smaller heads are easier to root!

The Kits Do smell good dont they? lol

Im dreading rooting The Ariella kit i have lol!

yes we do have quite the mix in here!  I am Canadian and thereare a few others but we show up as Americans for some reason. Then there are the Aussies who are oh so active here *giggles*  You gals all have such great personalities and are so quick to help. I think I have even seen a post or two from Sweden and other places in Europe.

I have started my Taffy, all the painting is done and I have started rooting her.  I hope to finish her by the end of the weekend if not sooner.  The painting went OK, it's trial and error and I will have a much better idea when I move onto doll # 2.   I made some of my veins and think skin too dark and found that leaving it rather than trying to correct may have been better.  The rooting is going ok so far, starting to get the hang of it.  I guess once I have a few more under my belt it will be much easier, I am hoping to figure out the directional rooting and the best way to do the swirl on the crown.  Any one have any tips on that?

Thanks ladies,

Christie

LOL cool, Yes I have Zoe to do next seems I am following in your footsteps :0)

I am on the west coast of Canada in Vancouver, I love it here and would never live any where else.  It 's expensive but with the Mountains and ocean and everything I couldn't be any where else.  My Fiancee is actually moving here from Sweden, I am pretty lucky that he was willing to come here instead of me going there.  Counting down the days only another 2 weeks until he is here with me for good instead of visiting back and forth. I'm soooo excited!

Have an awesome day!

Thanks Leah, that is great.  I wish we had a section where we could list all the various links to pages and things for reference.   I come across something and then can't find it again when I am looking.

What are you working on right now?

Hope you have a fantastic day,

Christie
