the right foam wedges ??

sorry to post twice about the foam wedges but i bought some supermarket foam wedges and when i loaded it with the paint/thinner mix the foam wedge went all bulgy, out of shape and seemed to "react" ... the foam wedge also seemed to soak up all the paint into it ???  yet when i used wedges from a well known reborn-supplier they didnt do this at all, has anyone else had this happen... ??? (hoping this all makes sense!) yet i have been told not to buy expensive ones as suppliers up the $$ yet what i have experienced is that the quality of the foam wedges varies from the source !!!

the best wedges i have found to buy are in cosmetic shops or chemists they are the same ones you get from the suppliers i think they are alittle firmer than the cheaper ones ((hugs)))

yes i agree, its hard to pounce with a not-so-firm wedge and it bends in the middle as you pounce, as they say quality not quantity.... i have learnt my lesson lolol :o) thanks again Tiny Earth Angels

I bought some from Wal Mart and they leave a mark and I really have to work hard to get it out. So are these not any good?

Yeah found the same thing here - the woolworth supermarket brand are obviously made of a less dense foam - when paint/any liquard touches them the expand and become very squidgie (if thats even a word).

Manicure brand from the chemist or cosmetic section at Target etc are the best in my opinion. They cost more as yo uonly get 6 in a pack, whereas the woolies/supermarket once come with about a million (ok not litterally) in a pack. In the long run though it seems to be worth paying the extra.

I have only had one set of sponges since I started reborning 18 months ago. I got mine from Secrist and they are great.  If I think they are getting to loaded up with paint I just pop them all in a zip up laundry bag and put them in the washing machine with my usual detergent (no fabric conditioner). They still have the colour on them when they come out but they are as good as new. I will just do this untill they fall apart. just let them air dry completely.
