Blacktown is a cheap place to stay :) I'd offer you a place but we don't have room!

It's on for two days... I am planning on going on the second day.. :)

I have traveled to Melbourn and put a 39" doll in comp. She got 98-100, but the people there were so clicky and the doll that beat mine had props larger than the doll and if they went by their rules it should have been disquilified, She won Champion at the next show in Qld. I also went to the Liverpool show in N.S.W. we had a stall  for about 4 yrs untill Jan Mc Lean bought a truck load of her Lollipop Dolls and was given prime position ,so nobody had any money left to spend on other sites. It wasn,t fair on her Wholesale costomers to take their sales away from them. We haven,t been to Sydney since. The next year was when they went to Blacktown. For any of you ladies that want to put your reborns in comp, I know they will accept ones that have been posted by mail. Good way of getting your name out there because , it is displayed on their arm with a tag and rubber band, so there is no posiblity of them being marked. All care is given and you can send photo on how you want it to be displayed.weirdfaceJune M from Oz.

Well, I went to the fair today and it was FABOULOUS! (you did not want to hear that, did you.. hehe!)

photos are https://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s169/tianakaesha/reborn/

excuse the reflections in the first few photos, but it was the best spot to take birds eye views, but people kept walking behind me!!

There were a few reborners there. There major stalls - Collectable Kids, Lyn's Reborn World and Adorable Dolls. Dolly Anna had some BB dolls, and there were a few dolls scattered out the 200 tables. I got to have a couple of cuddles and so did Tara!

Some of the porcelain dolls however were (IMHO!) more realistic than the reborns. There were some spectacular dolls. Some of the dolls clothes were to DIE FOR! amazing. absolutely amazing. One of my favourite stalls - the lady is "getting out of it" and had so much stock... but does not sell online!! (and is not local!!)

my biggest problem (other than no having any money!) was no one was online or local making it very very hard to consider purchasing at another time. There was hardly any advertising material from a lot of the stalls!! big shock!

I found an old fashioned style pram that I really really really want.... Really Really! $35! Hand Made cradle - under $50. Beautiful dolly cradle with white valance, $35... Beautiful Dolly christening gowns in Silk from $25...

And don't get me started on how beautiful some of the bears were...!

If only the fair was more than once a year! There are some smaller fairs coming up in the next two months or so, so I might have to save up my pennies and go again... ! but then again.. I need reborning supplies...! argh!!

Oh yes.. I know that the reborn shops are... what I was meaning was the other stalls... most of the clothing and other doll supply stores are not online... nor the furniture I loved..... so while I know where to go to get the supplies to make dolls... dressing them is another issue! haha!!

tianakaesha, Don,t get me wrong about doll shows, but like Dollyanna he is a wholesaler so when you purchase off him and he,s there selling to the public at a cheaper rate, none of the other stall holders can compeate, so they lose sales as with Jan Mc lean. The other reason not to go to many shows is the cost of fuel and accomidation. There always lovely items for sale that you wouldn,t ordinarilly see, I,ve been as far as Mackey, they had comps and my sculp got Champion of show and my Donna Ru bert, Lady Dianna got runner up, in porcelain that is. I do love going to them but they have to be a bit closer.weirdfaceJune M from Oz

Well I have a few brochures for some other fairs that are coming up. Hopefully I can go to them and get some more clothes. I think there is a large group of doll people in the northern suburbs (many I spoke to were from the north)... so I might try and go there.

For all you ladies in Oz that aren,t able to purchase The Australian Dolls Bears and Collectable mag you can email: abc@woodlandspublishing.com.au and subscribe, then they are sent to you monthly, they are $7.99 australian but if you pay upfront for a year they are cheaper. Sometimes you get a double issue, if you already have it,it,s one you can cut stories out of. In the back it usually has all the doll shows and dates,. teachers names, lots of adds for supplies, and show and tell.weirdfaceJune M from Oz
