The paint won't come off?

Sorry guys, I know I keep asking a million questions, I'll try to stop after this one, but I have a major problem now...
I tried to do an exterior vein, and the paint ran a little, and then it would come off! What can I do to get the paint off. I hope the kit isn't ruined.

Hi tracy have you baked the paint yet? if not try getting some thinners on a cosmetic wedge and rub over where you are wanting it to come of, if that doesnt work or you have already baked you can use some acetone to remove it, alot of ppl dont use acetone it is my personal preference for removing stubborn paint and it works,( if you use acetone and you have already painted some skin layers etc it will also remove them so you will need to use the acetone over the whole piece and start again) assuming the exterior veining is the only thing youve painted on so far and you try these things and there is a faint bit left leave it when you do your skin tone layers it will hide it over hope this helps (((hugs)))

PS: sorry forgot to say if you do end up using acetone wash your peice afterwards in hot soapy water and rinse well let completely dry before painting again

Okay, need some more details first!!  What kind of paint did you use?  If it was Genesis and you have not baked/heated it then just use some acetone on a cotton ball or Q-tip to remove the paint.  If it has been baked it may be more of a problem... Let me know the details...

Goof-off will get even baked Genesis off. But it is nasty stuff. You have to use it outdoors!

Thanks for the info ladies. I finally got it off with acetone, but it was difficult...I had to keep scrubbing. Thanks again!

I use winsor & newton brush cleaner & restorer when i strip/prepare my dolls for reborning. i find that it is better on my dolls than acetone. it is also gentler on my skin and i dont need to wear protective gloves when i use it. i use half a cotton ball and a few drops at a time when i am preparing a store bought doll (i like some of the berenguers, what can i say). when i am stripping dolls that i have to redo (i am still a very new newbie) i use it either on cotton swabs or on a cloth. i use qtips to get into tight spaces. the thing i like about this product, too, is that it only takes a little to get alot done. it leaves the baby feeling soft. it is non-toxic and has low-vapor (doesnt smell!). is biodegradable, water soluble, non-flammable and non-abrasive. now, how many of those things can u say about acetone? i have three or four bottles of acetone in my cabinet that i dont know what to do with now, i dont do my nails!

just my opinion!

Victoryah, I use Winsor & Newton, too, and I agree that it is fantastic! Everything you said is true. The paint literally loosens and lifts right up off the sculpt leaving it good as new. I'm with you!

I get it at either Michael's or Hobby Lobby and i live in a very small corner of the globe (far west texas). It seems to be one that is easily found in the states, as for Aussie land, im not so sure. Good luck.
