this does happen at times... i tend to use numerous covers of paints so that this doesn't become as issue in the end - using multiple layers i build up my skin tones fromm slightly different self mixed colourings, this achieves a really natural and multi-dimentional skin tone over all.

others have rigged up a piece holder - using like a wooden chopping board base with 4 upright dowle "poles" on which to place their limbs (inserting the rod/pole into the limb opening) and placing the head also upright in the center of the board. putting all this into to oven to cook.

I use a small portable covection oven (looks like a oversize toaster oven), i don't have the oevn depth to use this method as it would mean having to place the board on the lowest rung, which would place the board too close to the element which would probably burn the wood.

Instead i continue to use fabric/cloth on a tray slide in the center rung of my oven. Its just easier for me to have the oven right there in my work room and not be running back and forth to the kitchen. Also because i'm reborning on a full time bases its cheaper to run the small oven, it also heats up quickly and its right there - i can work on a baby in an assembly process - while the head is cooking i can have arms cooling while painting the legs etc. so i don't have to waste time waiting on parts to cook or cool, i can be working constantly.

Also given the high number of babies i am always working on my mother would never get to use her kitchen (yes i am currently living back with my parents), also i'd worry about fumes or residue taste from the vinyls "cooking" into food that is baked afterwards. Where as my little convection oven is used exclusively for baby baking!!!

Ive found if you turn your parts after 4 mins of cooking (half time) it stops the bare patches appearing it sweats as it cooks and this is what causes the bare look it only happens on certain sculpts ive noticed, i had one today do it to me so i just turn over my parts and theres been no more problems :)

i've found the same thing as TinyEarthAngel, it only happens on some sculpts for some unknown reason.
