That will be close to home for me so I think I can actually make it! Maybe not this year as we are transitioning back to Illinois from Wisconsin (yeah!) so I hope they continue to hold it in St. Louis.

It is taking longer to move that we anticipated so we won't be going to Tiny Treasures, besides the fact that we are broke! I owe EBay $57.00 in listing fees this month and nothing has even sold! That cutie pie doll with the Tina face here, I listed her three times and got no bids on the first two tries and the third time listed her with an opening bid of $10.00 and a reserve of $150.00. She only made it up to $80.00! I can't believe people actually think that it is worth all the labor and money I invested for me to sell a doll for $80.00. I hate summer, it brings all the cheap skates out!

Can you send me some information on the Tiny Treasures conference such as where it's held, times and dates. I'm new to this art and would like to go to some shows. How does everyone find out about the different shows and classes. I never hear about any of them until it's to late. I live in Missouri about two hours from St. Louis so this one would probably work with my schedule.
I had heard several people say it was disappointing. But it's just the first year so give it time to grow and I am sure it will be fine. They probably could have adjusted the price though since it was the first year.

I think it was $10.00 to see the booths but the actual conference with sessions was $150.00 plus any other workshops were priced individually. I know they have to meet expenses but geeze, in this rotten economy with $4.00 a gallon gas and rotten doll sales. you would think they would be a little more realistic about the money that people have to spend on extras. P.S. "Loves Dolls" I love your little Elf (I think it is an elf) I am going to have to try one of those one of these days. I thought they were cute as the AV Christmas elves even though they never sold very well. I wish these had an armature available like the AV elves had. What about Pat--could the armature from the Christmas elves be made available for these? Surely they still have a few little armatures hanging around somewhere. It would be fun to be able to pose the tiny ones as flying fairies.

Thank you! She is my Flower Fairy! She still needs wings, I just ordered some custom made for her! I was all over the place with how I wanted to paint her and costume her and someone pointed me to Cicely Mary Barker's Flower Fairies and so that is the direction I went in. She drew/painted her fairies in costumes like the kind of plant/flower they were from and then added wings from butterflies, moths, and dragon flies. I love her work. Actually bought a whole book by her!
And just think of how cute she would be with an ARMATURE . . . STRONG HINT TO SECRIST . . . use your magic powers of persuasion Pat! LOL! I am actually doing my bathroom in fairies and found a little Fairly doll with bendable legs in a doll shop in Merrill Wisconsin. I sat her on the towel bar between the towels and she looked so cute. I thought of how cute it would be to make up some AV fairies and put them in different poses around my bathroom, clipped onto a shelf, hanging from a flower strand, and so forth. But they need the armature to do that.

I started to put together an order and decided to add an elf . . . eeekk! I am up to $XX.00 and haven't even added hair! So I think I will hold off on that for a while. I remember the christmas elves being a little on the pricey side too which is why, I think, they didn't sell very well. Maybe I will do the elf later for myself but right now that is a luxury I can' t afford. We are jobless right now so every doll I make goes right to my web site or Ebay. One of these days I will make some dolls I actually get to keep!

The armatures that "used to be" in the elf kits are just locline. You can google them and go direct if you like. In the mean time I'll STRONGLY SUGGEST TO SECRIST (I got the hint dollyM) that maybe we get some in for the small dolls. :)
