Dry glazing gel
Permalink

My glazing gel seems very dry. It's pulling away from the sides of the container and when I touch it it just feels slightly sticky. I'm not sure what texture it should be, but on the dvds it looks more like the texture of vaseline (I guess you have that overseas? I'm in New Zealand).

How can I soften my glazing gel? Thanks smile.gif

Blessings,

Faye

i've have rather hard/sticky glazing gell like you describe -- except for the pulling away from sides of the container, that sounds like its even harder than mine!!

I'm not sure what its really ment to be like - and in the end i've very rarely used mine anyway. Maybe someone else will be able to enlighten us, as i'd be interested myself.

And also - can you use thinner with the glaze gel??

The glazing gel is thixatropic just like the paints. It is thick and seems stiff in the jars but you must stir it to make it creamy.

Yes, you can add a drop of thinner to the glazing gel to make it thinner but stir it first to make it smooth and creamy and maybe you won't want to.

I usually use thinner with mine. It seems to work just fine.
